Beau Brenchley appointed Sports Development Officer

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 November, 2009 : - - Coolangatta -- On the back of the opening of the newly relocated Surfing Australia Head Quarters from Casuarina to Coolangatta, Surfing Australia is pleased to welcome Beau Brenchley to the Surfing Australia team as the newly appointed Sports Development Officer.

Brenchley’s position was created to accompany the growth and the expansion of Surfing Australia and the increasing demands of the development of the sport Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark is pleased to have Brenchley on board.

“With our commercialisation process well underway and our commitment to develop the sport we needed increased human resources to enable us to meet our key strategic goals. Beau is a perfect fit for our business with solid experience, empathy for the sport and for the work that we do. We welcome him to our new team” he said.

Brenchley has been in the Surfing Industry for over ten years. In this time he has worked in various positions ranging from Event work with Surfing QLD, QLD Sales Representative for Surf Hardware International, manufacturing and management roles in the surf retail and manufacturing sectors.

As the newly appointed Sports Development Officer Brenchley’s role will cover a broad spectrum of areas within Surfing Australia. This will include focusing on assisting Jake White, Events and Communications Manager with media responsibilities and running of the computer and live scoring systems at a number of sanctioned events on the Surfing Australia calendar.

Brenchley will also be working with Chris Symington, Sport Development Manager assisting in the key sport development growth areas of education and surf schools.
